概要
三重県伊賀市にて作陶する城進さんの展覧会を開催いたします。大学で陶芸を学び、卒業後は世界50カ国を巡り歩いた城さん。その経験で磨かれた豊かな感性は、現在も作品作りに活かされています。粉引、白灰釉、鉄絵、白磁、焼〆、井戸と幅広く手掛けられますが、中でも特に人気の高い鉄絵シリーズは、アフリカを旅する中で出会った泥染の布に衝撃を受けた城さんが、どうにか器に落とし込むことができないかと試行錯誤を重ねて生まれました。フリーハンドで描かれたリズミカルな紋様とどこか素朴な表情を見せる城さんの作品は日々の食卓にそっと寄り添ってくれます。今回は日常使いの器を中心に土鍋や茶碗など幅広く出展いただきます。どうぞご高覧下さいませ。
We are pleased to announce the exhibition of Mr. Susumu Jo, a ceramic artist in Iga, Mie Pref., Japan. He studied ceramics at university and after graduation traveled to 50 countries around the world. The rich sensibility he honed through this experience is still used in his work today. He works in a wide range of styles, including Kohiki, white ash glaze, iron painting, white porcelain, fired finish, and Ido. The most popular of his iron painting series was created through trial and error, as he was struck by the mud-dyed cloth he encountered while traveling in Africa. With rhythmical patterns drawn freehand and a somewhat rustic look, his works will gently accompany your daily tableware. This time, we will be exhibiting a wide range of daily-use tableware, including earthenware pots and tea bowls.
