概要
今回の展覧会では、3月に参加したイギリスでのレジデンスの成果報告展という形で、Dundeeのwasps, Meadow Mill で発表した作品に加え、そのレジデンス中に得たアイデアを形にし、新作として発表します。
ロンドンでギャラリーや美術館巡りをしている際、パディントン駅の通路に、ねずみのぬいぐるみが落ちているのを見かけました。
そして、その汚れたねずみは、我々が帰る際にも、まだそこに横たわったままでした。
くまのパディントンという物語で有名な、パディントン駅。
そこで忘れられたままの、ねずみのぬいぐるみ…
その状況が物語のストーリーに重なり、私はこのぬいぐるみに対して、特別な感情を抱きました。
さらに、ノルウェーに続くイギリスの海岸の貝殻に、冷たく厳しい潮流を想像し、
ホームステイ先の亡くなられたお母様のティーカップの、何度となく注がれてきた暖かく和やかな時間に思いを馳せました。
私はメゾチントという技法を用い、自分や誰かにとって特別なモノ達をモチーフに、銅版画を制作しています。
その制作過程は、そのモノ達との対話であり、それらの背後にある記憶を感じ、繋がりを深める行為でもあります。
この旅で出会ったすべての方々と、思い出と、日本に来たモノ達に、深く感謝いたします。譲り受けたものと、これから時間がゆるすかぎり、一緒に新たな記憶を作っていきます。

This exhibition is a report on the results of the residency I participated in in the UK in March.
In addition to the work shown at wasps Meadow Mill in Dundee, I will be presenting new works based on ideas I gained during the residency.
While visiting galleries and museums in London, I saw a Mus musculus soft toy lying in the passageway at Paddington Station.
And when we went to the same station on our way home, the dirty soft toy was still lying there.
Paddington Station, famous for the The story of Paddington Bear.
The forgotten Mus musculus soft toy is still there,,,
The situation overlaps with the story of Paddington Bear, and I felt a special feeling towards this soft toy.
Furthermore, I imagined the harsh cold currents , from the shells of the British coast leading to Norway, And When I saw the tea cup that my homestay friend’s late mother used to use I thought about the many warm and peaceful moments poured into a cup by her.
I use a technique with mezzotint to create copperplate prints with motifs of things that are special for me or someone.
The production process is a dialogue with the objects, an act of feeling the memories behind them and deepening the connection.
I am deeply grateful for all the people I met on this trip, the memories, and the things that came to Japan this time.
As long as time permits, I will continue to create new memories with I have inherited things.
