概要

奈良県桜井市にて制作される辻村塊さんの展覧会を開催いたします。奈良市水間に生まれ、陶芸家・辻村史朗氏に師事。2000年に独立後、桜井の地に窯を構え、制作を行っています。井戸、志野、伊賀、信楽、唐津、粉引、引出黒など、日本の古陶磁に連なる多くの焼き物に取り組みながら、土と火の働きを受け止めた器を生み出しています。焼成によって刻まれる景色や歪みは、そのまま器の輪郭となり、ひとつひとつに異なる表情をつくります。料理を盛ったときの収まりや、酒を注いだときの映り込みの良さから、現在も多くの料理人に選ばれ、使われています。本展では、日常使いの器を中心に、花器や茶碗なども併せて展示いたします。どうぞご高覧ください。

We are pleased to present an exhibition of works by Kai Tsujimura, who is based in Sakurai, Nara Prefecture. Born in Nara, Tsujimura studied under the ceramic artist Shiro Tsujimura and established his independent practice in 2000. He now works from his kiln in Sakurai. Working across a range of wares rooted in Japanese ceramic traditions — including Ido, Shino, Iga, Shigaraki, Karatsu, Kohiki, and Hikidashi-guro — he creates vessels that embrace the effects of clay and fire. The traces left by the firing process become part of each form, giving every piece a distinct character. His works are valued for the way they hold food and reflect sake, and are used by many chefs today. The exhibition includes everyday vessels as well as flower vases and tea bowls.
