概要

京都で活躍した陶芸家・近藤豊（1932–1983）の展覧会を開催いたします。近藤は大学卒業後、人間国宝に認定された富本憲吉と父・近藤悠三に師事し陶芸を学びました。伝統的な技法にとどまらず、常に新しい表現を模索しながら作陶を続け、その活動は戦後京都の陶芸発展に大きく影響を与えました。さらには海外の大学で陶芸指導を行うなど国際的にも活躍し、国内外で数々の賞を受賞するなどその功績は高く評価されました。今展では、近藤の代表作で粉引と印華を組み合わせた「粉華」をはじめ、初期の作品や食器などの幅広い作品を出展いたします。どうぞご高覧下さいませ。

We are pleased to present an exhibition of Yutaka Kondo (1932-1983), a ceramic artist who was active in Kyoto. After graduating from university, He studied ceramics under his father, Yuzo Kondo, who was recognized as a Living National Treasure for his work. He continued to create ceramics while always seeking new expressions beyond traditional techniques, and his activities greatly influenced the development of ceramic art in Kyoto after World War II. He was also active internationally, teaching ceramics at universities abroad and receiving numerous awards both in Japan and abroad. This exhibition will feature a wide range of his works, including “Koka,” a combination of Kohiki glaze and Inka style, one of his representative works, as well as early works and tableware.
