概要
「Possible Presents（ささやかな贈りもの）」は、ウェールズを拠点に活動するアーティスト、スー・ハントとヘザー・パーネルによる、近作および進行中の作品を紹介する展覧会です。ふたりはそれぞれ異なる手法でかつ重なり合う方法でこのテーマに取り組みながらも、人とその周囲の世界との複雑な関係性を探求しています。
スー・ハントは、ドローイング、ペインティング、版画に根ざした植物形態の存在を探求しています。彼女の抽象的な作品は、自然の脆さと相互関連性を反映しています。素材とメタファーを通して、スーの視覚言語は、自然界と私たちの関係を形作る、永続的で、時に神聖でありながらも儚い力について考察する場を提供します。
ヘザー・パーネルは、捨てられた包装、ポケットの残骸、舗道の埃など、日常生活の中で見過ごされがちな素材を探求しています。彼女の作品は、ドローイング、版画、鋳造、縫製、包装、折り畳みといった手法を通して、形態と習慣を体系的に探求しています。彼女は、些細なものを注意深く、そして好奇心を持って捉え直し、しばしば驚きと予想外の新たな可能性を発見しています。
この展覧会期間中、スーとヘザーはギャラリー内で新たな作品を共同制作します。8月27・28・29日は作家が在廊し、ご来場の皆様にも創作の過程に係わっていただき、共に作品の制作を考えております。
アーティストは、皆様がギャラリーに持参頂いたモノを用い、共にコラボレーション制作を行います。そして最終的に一つの特別な芸術作品となります。
制作に使用するモノに制限はありません。紙切れ、道に落ちていた石、ポケットの中の糸くず、捨てようとしていた物、大切な物、絵、ことば、何でも構いません。皆様が持参されたささいなプレゼントは、特別な”Possible Presents” になるでしょう。

Possible Presents is an exhibition of recent and ongoing work by Wales-based artists Sue Hunt and Heather Parnell. Both artists respond to the theme in distinct yet overlapping ways, compelled to explore the complex relationships between people and the world around them.
Sue Hunt explores the presence of botanical forms, rooted in drawing, painting, and printmaking. Her abstract work reflects nature’s fragility and interconnectedness. Through material and metaphor, Sue’s visual language offers space to reflect on the enduring, sometimes sacred yet ephemeral forces that shape our relationship with the natural world.
Heather Parnell investigates the overlooked materials of daily life, such as discarded packaging, pocket remains or pavement dust. Her practice involves a systematic exploration of form and habit through drawing, printing, casting, stitching, wrapping and folding. She reclaims the trivial with care and curiosity, discovering new offerings that are often surprising and unexpected.
During the exhibition, Sue and Heather will collaborate on new artworks within the gallery.
The artist will be present on the 27th, 28th and 29th, and customers will be invited to participate in the creative process and work together to create the piece.
The artist will use OBJECTS brought by customers to the gallery to create a collaborative piece.
And finally your collaboration will ultimately result in a special artwork.
There are no restrictions on the OBJECTS we can use in the creations.
It can be a piece of paper, a stone on the road, a piece of lint in your pocket, something you were about to throw away, something important, a picture, words, anything is fine.
The Possible Presents you bring will be extra special Possible Presents.
