Description

How we encounter, experience and consume the history? Let us make an approach to this question described on the wraparound band of the Japanese edition of Aleida Assmann’s book, “Geschichte Im Gedachtnis”.
Let’s say some large scale art festivals in the world since 90s has played the important role of creating the history of the cutting edge art, and in which there were so many art festivals we have encountered, experienced and consumed. In other words, our experience, its accumulation have shaped the history. But what the devil this is all about?
On the 15th September, we will be doing a screening, showing some photos and videos that’s recorded in the art festival, such as Venice Biennale, Documenta, Sculpture Projects Münster, Yokohama Triennale and Tsumari Triennale, that is, we will be looking at the detail of the festival through the projection of each memory. Thus we try to shape the tentative history and go on a hypothetical thinking about the experience of the history.
We will welcome all people without exception to join us and if you bring some photos or videos, you can also show them on the projector.
