Description
“Jimmy Tsutomu Mirikitani Retrospective” is an exhibition which explores the lastingimpact of violence and the endurance of humanity, through the works and life of a unique
artist, Jimmy Tsutomu Mirikitani.
Jimmy Mirikitani(1920-2012) was a stubborn painter discovered by the director Linda
Hattendorf. Mirikitani experienced internment of Japanese Americans during the World
War Ⅱ. His works and personality convey humor and messages for peace.
This special exhibition, “Jimmy Tsutomu Mirikitani Retrospective,” includes 30 art
works by Jimmy Mirikitani, and pictures and panels about the Tule Lake internment
camp.
