Description
Kyoto University of Art & Design (“KUAD,” Sakyo-ku, Kyoto, Japan/President: Kazuo Oike) would like to be pleased to announce a special exhibition, “Ryue Nishizawa + nendo: Roof and Mushrooms” which is scheduled to be open on Friday October 4, 2013 in the Entrance Lounge on Floor 1 of KUAD’s Ningen-kan.Always focused on “joy”, the ideas of Ryue Nishizawa and nendo become manifest as “beauty” through the medium of humanity. Their creations are comforting, soothing, and relaxing. Moreover, they align with Kyoto University of Art & Design’s declared mission and raison d’être as a university seeking to achieve peace through art. It is our hope that through the creative work of these internationally active artists, who represent Japan on the world stage, visitors to this exhibition will gain a sense for KUAD’s educational philosophy.
The exhibition is open to the general public. We hope that a broader audience will enjoy the opportunity that it presents.
