About The 9th International Conference of Asian Arts Management in Malaysia 2014

Can we imagine a model of arts management not for the sake of financial profit, but rather for the good of the community? In the general understanding, the purpose of arts management is to effectively deliver works of art and performances to audiences in theatres, concert halls, art museums, and other cultural institutions.
However, we believe that we can conceive a model of arts management, in practice and as an academic subject, which is more in line with the nature of community and society in the various regions of Asia. By rooting arts management in Asia’s culture and society, the conference aims to establish a strong practical and theoretical foundation for an alternative model.
